With the support of the Community Broadcasting Foundation and Channel 31 Melbourne, Death of an Axolotl is the chronicle of the friendship of a seven-year-old boy Robin and a classroom pet axolotl in the face of the tyrannical art teacher, Ms. LeGrand.
A feature-length narrative film exploring mental health through the lens of a child diagnosed with Tourette syndrome and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), tracing the arc of experiences navigating school life and identity whilst seeking the root of his anxiety disorders to better his self-worth and wellbeing.
